Two or more body portions are simultaneously and adjacently wound on one winding mandrel, the projection and sleeve of adjacent bodies forming a rigid tapering connection. Separately wound bodies may be joined by adhesion at the projectionsleeve joint before or after resin hardening. The stretchable locks may be so applied to the mandrel that they always form the outer layer. Webs of foam material may be applied to the mandrel. The wound bodies may form containers, vehicle bodies and buildings, and may have inlays of, for example, sound-proofing material.
