1486385 Moisture resistant and laminating compositions NESTE OY 24 Feb 1976 [24 Feb 1975] 07295/76 Heading C3P [Also in Division B5] Materials suitable for use as adhesives and moisture insulating layers in re-defibrable moisture-resistant wrapping paper or cardboard comprise (1) 50 to 90 weight per cent of a polymer having a softening point of 40‹ to 120‹ C. and prepared by polymerizing a hydrocarbon mixture containing at least 15 weight per cent of C 4-6 alkenes and/or alkadienes and 40 to 70 weight per cent of C 6-7 aromatics, (2) 1 to 50 weight per cent of atactic polypropylene having a number average molecular weight of 5000 to 100,000 and (3) 1 to 40 weight per cent of one or more monomeric and/or polymeric esters having a Brookfield viscosity of 100 to 1000 cP. at 20‹ C. The compositions may also contain 2 to 10 weight per cent of paraffin or microcrystalline wax. The polymer may be hydrogenated and the polypropylene may be oxidized. Examples describe compositions comprising atactic polypropylene together with (2) petroleum resin and butane diol azelate and (3) hydrogenated petroleum resin and dioctyl phthalate.
