The pit has a bottom raised upwards at the centre. This raised centre section works with the shaft of the pit, as well as with the openings for receiving feed and waste pipes. Between the raised centre section and the shaft wall, there is a recessed annular section for receiving a sealing sleeve attaching to the opening in the shaft wall. The deepened section has an inclined surface working with the surface of the sleeve, from the shaft wall to the centre section. On its inside the sleeve has transverse ribs and its lowest point is at the same height as the raised centre section forming the pit bottom. The lowest point of the opening in the wall of the shaft is higher than the top edge of the flange from the shoulder against which the bottom edge of the shaft tube rests. At least one second shaft section is provided and has a socket at its lower end making a good fit with the tube forming the bottom shaft. The sealing sleeves from the inlet and outlet pipes are not pushed out when subsidence occurs so they do not need to be excavated and replaced.
