The equipment is for boarding and leaving a ship, particularly for a pilot, and has a winch for the deck hoisting and lowering and a supporting frame near the hull plating. The winch drive mechanism (9) comprises a reversible compressed-air motor (11) with compressed-air remote control. The compressed-air control, locking adjusting and monitoring devices for the motor can only be operated from the ship deck (2), although the motor can be stopped both from the deck and the supporting frame. The air supply line to the motor can be connected to the control housing mounted on the motor coaxially to the motor shaft, while the remote control connections extend radially from the side of the housing.
