The radial air gap type disc motor consists of a stator disc with exitation winding and a rotor disc made from a permanent magnetic material adjacent to the stator disc. The direction of magnetisation of the permanent magnets (20) which form the rotor disc is parallel to the plane of the rotor disc. It coincides with the direction of rotation of the rotor disc relative to the stator disc (3). The permanent magnets next to each other will have like poles facing each other. The direction of the field produced by the like poles will deflect towards the stator disc.
