Mowing machine (3) which is tractor drawn has a frame (4) in which at least two mowing units (6, 7) working together are located rotatably on upwards shafts. The mowing units have each a rotor which is at least partly screened, and which has on its upper side at least one cutting blade (8). The rotor screening is by means of baffle guide which is upright and connected to the rotor, and during operation the blade moves over this screen with reduced clearance. The edges of the two mowing units (6, 7) connect with each other between a point where the two blades tracks overlap each other and the connecting line between the two shafts of the mowing units. The edge of an outermost mowing unit is connected near a rear end with a part of the machine frame.
