1489693 Dry, water dispersible pigment concentrates HERCULES Inc 20 Jan 1975 [21 Jan 1974] 2357/75 Heading C3P A dry pigment concentrate comprising 55- 80 wt. per cent pigment and 45-20 wt. per cent non-ionic material, is produced by (A) forming a homogeneous mixture comprising milled or homogenized pigment, water and, by wt. of pigment: (a) 15-45 wt. per cent of a non-ionic dispersing agent which is a polyether alcohol, alkylene oxide-alkylene diamine block polymer, polyoxyethylene glycol ester or glycerol ester; (b) 10-70 wt. per cent of a water-dispersible nonionic polymer which is (1) an at least partially hydrolysed vinyl acetate polymer, (2) a polymer of an N-vinyl pyrrolidone or (3) a mixture thereof; and optionally (c) 0-40 wt. per cent of a non-ionic colloid; and (B) removing the water from said mixture until a dry composition is obtained, the weight ratio of polymer (b) plus colloid (c) to dispersant (a), being greater than 0À85.
