Compounds corresponding to the formula (I): IMAGE in which R represents: - an ethoxycarbonyl group, Ar then representing a phenyl ring, - a p-morpholinocarbonyl group, Ar then representing a phenyl ring substituted in the ortho position by a halogen atom, or - an o- or m-morpholinocarbonyl group, Ar then representing a phenyl ring substituted in the para position by a halogen atom are prepared. For this, 2-aryl-4-chloro-6-methylpyrimidines are condensed with corresponding anilino derivatives in acetic acid and in the presence of hydrochloric acid. The ethoxycarbonyl residue can also be converted to 2-morpholinoethylaminocarbonyl. The new compounds can be used as antianoxics.
