A composition contains at least one polyamine contg. ether groups of formula: R1-N(R)-CH2-CH(R1)-OCH2-CH(R2)-CH2NH2 (I) where R1 and R2 are independently HcrCH3. R is a group of formula: -CH2-CH(R1)-O-CH2CH(R2)-CH2NH2,-CH2-CH(R1)-OH, or -CH2-CH(R2)CH2NH2 and R1 is as R or 1-4C alkyl or phenyl. Also tris (6-amino-3-oxahexyl) amine, N-ethyl-N,N-bis(6-amino-3-oxa-hexyl) amine, and tris(6-amino-5-methyl-3-oxa-hexyl)amine) are specifically claimed of the cpds. of formula (I) which appear to be novel and ten cpds. in all are mentioned. The compositions are used as intermediates in the prepn. of additives for oil lubricants and as catalysts of cross-linking agents in the synthesis of polyurethanes.
