The circuit is for a push-pull arrangement of two controlled rectifiers receiving control pulses alternately, which assures symmetry of the output currents in simple fashion and eliminates any effects tending to cause unbalance. A circuit (13) detects any asymmetry of the output currents of the devices (11) and controls a circuit (14) to very the width of the control pulses to maintain balance of the output currents. The control pulses may be generated by an astable multivibrator (TR1, TR2), the detector circuit (13) taking the form of a transformer (T2) with a primary winding in one of the DC leads to the two semiconductors. The control circuit (14) may comprise a dioda (D) and capacitor (C3) in series, the diode being connected to the transformer secondary and the capacitor and the other terminal of the secondary connected to the multivibrator transistor (T2) controlling the rectifier drive.
