Firing practice target with display system - has acoustic converter and amplifier responding only to sound of target hit

The firing practice target has an automatic hit display system. The target itself is made from a stiff plate and ensures that firing need not be interrupted for observing the hit in the target. An acoustic converter is connected to the target (1) to sense sound waves propaged within the target. An amplifier is connected to the acoustic converter. The converter electrical signal is amplified and fed into a circuit for actuating an optical display (L). The circuit responds only if the magnitude of the amplified signal reaches a strength which corresponds to that generated when target is penetrated by a bullet.
