The device is intended to prevent by simple means a mechanical overloading of parts during the manual switching of the date ring (18). The sliding pinion (10) of the hand-adjusting arbor (4, 5, 6) is provided with a peripheral groove (9), in which a switching member in the form of an open spring ring (16) is fitted with friction contact.
