Coupling link for snow chain pattern - with transverse grip edge to lie over adjacent flat chain links without distortion

The adjacent flat ring links (3, 4) of the snow chain pattern are slid into the extended slot of a long link (11) set on edge on the tyre. The slot encloses the links side by side, over their slightly oval edges to prevent them: twisting too much. The middle of the link has a transverse bar (18) on its running side to brace the link on the road. The transverse bar provides torsional stability and prevents the chain tension from twisting the chain and distorting the links. It also provides improved snow grips.
