Blood pressure is measured with two or more cuff chambers opposingly connected such that an indicator connected in between, for pressure change or flow, gives a min. of the measured quantity when the vol. changes of the body parts associated with the individual chambers are relatively large according to phase and amt., and compensate each other at the indicator. Preferably, to determine systolic press. the action of the chamber nearer the heart on the indicator is suppressed by bypassing, and the signal for systolic press. is derived from the beginning of the pulsation in the chamber remote from the heart. Blood press. is accurately measured.
