Flue gas heat recovery plant for horizontal rotary shaft furnace The rotating shaft furnace installation for the direct reduction of iron oxide containing materials is fitted with ancillary plant for recovery of at least part of the heat contents of the flue gases, consisting of a cooled wall flue gas channel acting as a heat exchanger, and a steam boiler, into the radiation chamber of which the gases are conducted from the flue channel. - The flue gas channel may optionally be positioned so as to form the lower part of the boiler radiation chamber. Further combustion of the flue gases with the admixture of O2-contg. gases may be carried out in the boiler radiation chamber.
