In a modification of the mandrel disclosed in the parent Specification to permit the manufacture of smaller diameter glass fibre reinforced plastics tubing, roll members 2 are arranged on a frame 1, in rows parallel to the longitudinal axis of the mandrel and rotatable about an axis perpendicular to it. The rolls may be ball or roller bearings (as shown) 2, or discs (2a), Fig. 3 (not shown), mounted on a shaft 5 retained by locking rings 6. In another embodiment the rolls have pointed journals (5a) received by conical bearings (7), Fig. 4 (not shown).
