In the mfr. of a warp knitted carrier band for a sliding clasp fastener, the two strips are formed together with a common linking threads between them which can be parted to give the separate strips. The wefts in the stitch-free zone, which separates the two carrier strips, are bonded to the wales flanking the openings of the separating zone. - The design gives an improved clamping action on the rows of teeth forming the sliding clasp fastener which are secured to the edges of the carrier strips.
