Trench wall supporter has two support walls assembled from superposed wall sections and held at a spacing by a reinforcement consisting of vertical supports abutting the insides of both support walls and cross struts. The supports are vertically displaceable in guides on the insides of the wall sections. Each support wall is assembled from at least two stiff, double-walled, steel sheet wall sections, which have a vertical guide only in their longitudinal middle. The supports in the guide are connected by cross struts to form a stiff, standing frame and have stops which cooperate with the respective lower wall sections and support them vertically. The stops are easily releasable, or are fastened to the supports and movable into an opening position.
