Lacquered surface decorating process - forms pattern by drops of liquid having different surface tension

The surface to be decorated is covered with a coat of lacquer or plastic. Whilst the coating is still wet a low viscosity liquid, which carries a finely dispersed pigment in suspension, and which has different surface tension from the coating is scattered in drops over the coating. - The drops form featherlike patterns with sharp boundary lines either singly or combined with one another. The colouring liquid consists of a solvent mixture of equal parts by weight of ethyl alcohol, methyl-ethyl-acetone and xylol with the addition of 10% of finely divided organic pigments suspended in liquid epoxy resin. The liquid also contains a further 0.01% of a solvent of soluble silicon fluid.
