Image converter changing IR into visible radiation - uses IR input optics equivalent to visible output optics with intensity proportional to object isotherms
The image converter, for converting IR into visible radiation, produces a visible image exactly coincident with the IR object and whose intensity is proportional to the object's isothermals. The IR radiation is split by a rotating scanner and projected onto a detector array. The resulting video signals are then used to drive a reproduction element that makes the IR object visible. - The optical system at the IR input of the converter is functionally equivalent to the visible-radiation optics at the output of the converter. The video signal is amplified according to given mathematical functions. The level dependent circuit splits the signal path up into subpaths.
