Stator and rotor stamping pairs, cut from a single blank, are held clear of each other during separation at different off-take conveyance heights, for working reliability and safety. There is a stator plate holding down pad, which is attached to the stamping ram, and which obviates a separate timed pad drive. - A rotary post (29) has a shoulder (43) which supports the rotor plate (37) section.
