The design of the bearing for a high-speed rotor, such as in an open-end spinning unit, uses flexible 0-rings in conjunction with the bearing bush to hold the rotor to the stator to contain the centre of gravity within the floating bearing. The design prevents operating forces affecting the bearing, preventing wear which would lead to imbalance in running, and to increase bearing life.
