The comparator is controlled by digital modulation stages in outgoing and incoming circuits, whose control criteria are derived from speech voltage levels in the two circuits. A second digital comparator (VE2) is provided between the first digital comparator (VE1) and the attenuators (DE, DS) in the speech circuits; in case of an incoming speech the attenuator in the incoming circuit (DE) and in the outgoing circuit (DS) are only partially disconnected or connected, while in case of an outgoing speech the attenuator (DS) in the outgoing circuit is completely removed, and attenuator (DE) in the incoming circuit completely inserted.
