A knife holder for arrestable insertion into U-form radial cut outs in the support disc of a knife head used in the processing or working of wood or plastic materials, has a removable body (7) which is of roughly U-form and has an insertable and position lockable insert body (8) which supports or carries the knife, (5). The removable body (7) has at least one guide groove (3) running around the centre of its peripheral edges and which fits into the cut out section of the disc (2). The width of this groove (3) is the same as the width of the support disc (2) itself.
