The pre-fabricated sections (5, 6) of the superstructure form transverse gaps (4) in the lengthwise direction. These gaps (4) are filled with material such as mortar. The superstructure sections are pre-stressed or have lengthwise or transverse tensionpieces. Spacers absorb any stresses occurring in the gaps (4), while the filler material inserted in the gaps (4) is setting. The effective axial position of the contact spacers is set by a mechanically adjustable spindle (11) or by a hydraulically-operated stamp or press. The spindle (11) or stamp is adjusted in a cylindrical steel mould (9), closed on the inside end, and concreted into the front end of one superstructure section (6).
