1535006 Rail vehicles-overload check SIEMENS AG 3 March 1977 [15 March 1976] 8919/77 Heading B7H Railcars are checked for overload by measuring the traction current of each car in a measuring section of the railway network. Each car F is supplied from current rails 81-S3 via brushes B1-B3 and in the measuring section S20 the current is monitored by resistor Rm coupled to a Schmitt trigger circuit SS which is tripped to provide a warning signal A when the voltage across the resistor exceeds a set value. The value can be set in dependence on the maximum gradient in the network or on the maximum gradient to be met by the car on its specified route. The warning signal can actuate a set of points to route the car off the main track.
