The relay base (14) fits onto a standard channel section support rail (11), e. g. by spring action between a projection (16) and clip (17) in the recess (15) facing the rail. The upper face of the base has undercut projections (20) into which corresponding lugs (32) on the relay (31) fit. The relay is located by a key or pin and secured by a bolt on the side opposite the lugs (32). For a small elay a clamping plate (34) is used to fasten the relay to the base. It acts as a distance piece between the mounting hole on the relay and the corresponding point on the base. On the largest relays the mounting bolt may pass through a lug moulded onto the relay case.
