A vertically standing separator vessel for radioactive material from the breeder process in a nuclear installation, utilised for removing the radioactive content of the waste water, has an inlet connection for the steam/water mixt. and an outlet for the dried steam. In additional to conventional separators, the plant includes a centrifugal separator driven by a motor from outside the vessel. The finest particles and droplets are sepd. at high speed and the residual radiation content is reduced.
