The cutting arrangement consists of a guide (9, 27) on which a carriage is mounted with wheels (13). The carriage can be mounted on an air conditioning duct. A motor driven cutting tool (22) is mounted on the carriage. As the guides have scales, the cutter can be moved into the correct position and over the path required for the hole to be cut. For circular holes, the cutter can be swung on an arm (41) mounted on a pivot point. the carriage is attached to the duct by means of suction pads, magnets or by mechanical means. The cutting tool itself is preferably in the form of a nibbler.
