Fuel dispersion contg. coal, oil and water, prodn. - by grinding moist coal and mixing with oil

Prodn. of a storage-stable fuel in the form of a coal/water/oil dispersion contg. coal with a particle size of 100 mu, comprises grinding moist coal to form a paste, adding oil to the paste, and subjecting the mixt. to violent agitation (pref. ultrasonic) with an intensity of 11,625 w/cm2. Any excess oil is then removed as a separate phase. The process makes use of coal with a high moisture content (e.g. Australian brown coal contg. 6-40% H2O) which cannot be pulverised in the normal way.
