Ski binding release tester - with binding adjusted to max. retaining force, then released by emergency force

The ski carrying the binding is clamped into the appliance, which determines the retaining or release forces of the binding, using reference values in the IAS tables. The binding is adjusted to its max. retaining force, and sideward forces in the area of the boot tip, and upward forces in the heel area are applied, according to a simulated turning- or forward fall. The retaining forces are then manually adjusted to a value, at which a release must occur for safety reasons. The appliance (1) has a table for ski (18), with a front lower switch- and instrument panel (6). Table, panel and walls form a cabinet, accommodating a hydraulic system to apply the testing forces.
