The single-family house, or similar building, with prestressed concrete ceilings supported by external walls and internal load bearing walls, or other struts, has bathroom, rectangular plan flight of stairs, and living rooms, bedrooms and other spaces. Two parallel load bearing struts (11, 12) are set parallel and at an interval matching double stairs flight plan depth (D1). A third parallel strut (13), between their extensions, is spaced from the first at door passage interval (D3). A fourth (14), running crossways, has the interfacing ends of these abutting onto it. The load bearing external wall (15) adjacent to the first and third struts is spaced from the first at an interval matching the length of the stairs flight plan.
