The tennis court is designed to reduce muscle fatigue. The base is levelled, then covered with a layer of sand and/or clinker which is rolled into a stabilised condition. Anchoring blocks for net fixture are fitted. The consolidated layer is coated to prevent rising damp and the coating is covered first with one layer of chipboard panels, and then with a second, offset layer. When the two panel layers have been joined together, pref. with screws or nails, they are given a coat of non-slip water-repellent paint. The damp resistant coating can be of mallable plastic foil reinforced with superpolyamide thread.
