A clamp is for precision tool esp. a dental tool with a constant diameter shaft. The clamp has a drive coupling pin (2) which forms one end of a cylindrical housing (1) which is internally stepped. The other end accommodates a double-stepped support part. The tool has a hole (8) running radially to the main borehole (4) and containing a spherical pressure piece (9) acted upon by an elastic split ring (10). The holder is supported with the aid of ball bearings (6) between it and the inner surface of the housing whereby an eccentrically arranged clearance (5) is formed.
