A fault current protective switch is very sensitive and is built into a plug. It is intended for protection against accidents from shocks. The switch will automatically connect the safety lead of the equipment to the earht lead or to the lead in the mains which is not carrying a dangerously high voltage with respect to earth. The measurement of the mains voltage with respect to earth on the measurement of the line floating above earth may be performed via a human body in series with a high Ohmic resistance and a capacitance of the connected line.
