Smokestack cover plate with remote actuation - covers smokestack against rain ensuring vertical free flow of flue gases

The smokestack cover has a larger cross section than the stack opening. The cover has a hood with opening with covered plate within the hood which is moved into the stack closing or opening position. The cover prevents entry of rainwater reliably and it does not prevent the outlet of the flue gases and their upwards vertical flow. The cover plate is remotely actuated on starting and stopping of the burner system associated with the smokestack. The cover plate is moved into a vertical open position or into position which covers the stack opening. An electric motor is connected to the smoke stack cover for cover plate actuation.
