The sprinkler consists of a mushroom shaped nozzle carrier (1) with a curved top surface (2) on which are a number of nozzles (3). The nozzles (3) vary in the direction in which they point, and in their range. The range of each nozzle (3) can be adjusted between a maximum and minimum figure. The surface of the sprinkled area is circular, with each sector of the circular area reached by at least two groups of nozzles (3), or by one nozzle. The nozzles (3) are arranged preferably in at least two concentric ring over the surface of the nozzle carrier (1). One half of the nozzles are supplied by a first supply pipe, and the nozzles on the other half are supplied by a second supply pipe. The nozzle carrier is fixed to the ground.
