Binaural hearing aid in spectacle frame - has each arm of spectacles containing solar cells, battery, microphone, loudspeaker and amplifier

The binaural hearing-aid is built into the arms of a pair of spectacles. For each ear there is a microphone (6), an amplifier and volume control, a loudspeaker (3), a battery, and solar cells (7). The solar cells are mounted towards the front of the arms clear of the wearer's hair and are used to 'top up' the batteries that supply power to the electronics. The advantage of having two separate sound pickup systems, one for each ear, lies in giving the wearer as natural a reproduction of sound as possible.
