The trowel is designed as a multi-purpose unit, for measured distribution and smooth or groove applications of adhesives. It is in the form of a continuous plate, with a grooving on the applying side running from edge to centre. This enables the quantity of material applied to be determined, according to the angle of the trowel relative to the application base, and provides the option of smooth or ridged application. The trowel may be conical in shape, with the front edge rounded at the top, and the leading corner at an acute angle. It may be of metal, plastic or other materials.
