Connecting device for incoming and continuing optical fibre cables has optical fibres centred relative to each other in holders. Each holder comprises a guide body with guide channels for the optical fibres and a cover plate which seals off the guide channels. The optical fibres to be connected directly butt against each other. The holders (4) comprises plate-shaped substrates (120) which support the guide bodies (13) with the guide channels (14) for the optical fibres (15). The guide bodies (13) are made of elastic plastic. The cover plates (16) are connected to the guide bodies (13). The optical fibres can be easily pressed into the guide channels (14).
