Electronic thermometer with battery economiser - has preset scanning time for monitoring and display using digital timer

The electronic thermometer with battery economy circuit is esp. suitable for use in medical applications. The output from the thermometer probe is connected to a temperature measuring circuit (12) where the temperature variations are monitored. The signals are converted into digital form (14) and the pulses fed to a control and display unit (16). The control unit contains a timer. Both time interval and temp. can be displayed in digital form. The timer is constructed so that pre-set intervals are provided in which the battery supply is connected to the temp. scanning and display circuits. At the end of the set period they are automatically disconnected from the supply to save battery power.
