Games racket comprises a frame of wood, metal, plastic or combinations of materials, gut or plastic strings, and a handle extension. Spaced from and parallel to the main strings are one or more sets of secondary strings, pref. with a lower tension then the main strings. The secondary strings may be made of elastic material with a high coeffs. of friction, or a material with high tensile stress and a low coefft. of friction, or one set of each material. They pref. consist of separate elements e.g. elastic rings such as rubber or nylon rings. The racket has low hitting force requirements and good ball acceleration, and increases dwell time of the ball on the racket, so that more spin can be imparted to the ball.
