Ozone generator comprises a housing in which tubular ozone-generating elements are mounted parallel to each other. Each element comprises outer and inner, coaxial tubes sepd. by a dielectric barrier and forming a constant annular space between them. The tubes are liquid-cooled and the gas flows through the constant width annular space and is subject to an electrical discharge to generate ozone. Between adjacent ozone-generating elements there are gas-cooling chamberrs communicating with the annular spaces in the elements, so that a series path for the gas is formed from inlet to outlet and thus transversely to the tubular ozone-producing elements themselves. The improved cooling of the gas during ozonisation enables its temp. to be kept down, thus enabling the intensity of ozone prodn. to be increased without loss of efficiency.
