In each computer connection line is provided an intermediate conductor (14) through a partition wall (7), leading one one side to one of a number of modems (5, 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d). Connections are sealed at the modem side by a terminal bush (22). On the other side of the partition is a computer with retaining bushes (16, 17) on the computer side. These lead to a switchboard (3) on which are fittings for cable-sheaths (9) and post office telephone type sockets (10). These terminal arrangements enable rapid connections and disconnections to be made between the modems and the computer units.
