The balancing system is used for inertia forces of reciprocating piston engines, esp. for the second order forces in a four cylinder four stroke in line engine. The planetary gear output has an eccentric balancing weight. The balancing mass (14) is dimensioned for compensation of inertia forces acting along the cylinder axis and connecting rod forces acting at right angles. The driving wheel (7) is driven in the same rotating direction as the crankshaft (4) to compensate the transverse dynamic force components. The driving wheel can be rotated in the opposite direction. The driving wheel can be driven by a toothed belt driven by crankshaft or camshaft (4, 5).
