In the plant for large-scale boiler pressure impregnation of timbers, an impregnation cylinder (1) is used, with closure lids (1a) with inbuilt right-angled-mounted smooth welded wall cladding (2) of plates on spars. The space between outside cylinder walling and heating or pressure chamber (4) is water or oil filled, and heating-medium filling is constantly and automatically carried out via a tank (5) with the aid of a return valve (6). Four heater arrays automatically bring fluid in the intervening space to the desired temp. attaining evenly distributed heated transfer to the impregnation medium and timber carried into the rectangular impregnation chamber (8). A compensating vessel (11) balances water or oil heat expansion, and both impregnation chamber and heated intervening space are fitted with a similarly set safety valve.
