The device has two movable squeezing jaws, one of which has an anvil, and the other a roller punch by which the wire and/or its insulation is squeezed. The first squeezing jaw (3) consists of two movable parts (5, 6) which are connected with each other. The first part (5) carries the anvil (2), and the other part (6) has two different size chambers in which the contacts of suitable size are placed. The contact receiving part (6) can be placed in a position relative to the anvil (2), in which the chamber corresponding to contact size is placed exactly before the anvil (2).
