Equipment for loading piece goods such as boxes on and off loading from pallets includes a conveyor for delivering and taking away the pallets and a pallet store. Between the piece goods conveyor and the pallet conveyor is located a grab head which is moving along a hook shaped curved track. One end point (13) of the curved track is positioned above the piece goods conveyor (1) and its other end point (14) which is vertically displaced against the first point (13) is positioned above a pallet lift (3') so that a top layer (2') of a pallet can be lifted or set down. The grab head (4) is positioned on an extended tie (6) of a four link gearing (7) and the bearing points (9, 10) of the support steering arms are below a movement track traced by the end points (13, 14) on axis (15) of the extended tie (6). The crank radius of the support steering arm (11) is smaller than the crank radius of the driving arm (12) which swings backwards and forwards below the curved track.
