The flow regulating valves works in conjunction with a spring loaded control valve arranged so that when no flow takes place the control gap on the regulating valve remains closed. The oil pressure on the supply connection is the same as on the consumer connection and the regulating valve is pressed by a spring up to the shoulder against the force of a spring, while the ring gap remains closed. If pressure medium is admitted into the valve, a line supplies pressure to the ring gap. The inner face of the control valve becomes loaded and the piston is pushed against the force of the spring until it comes to rest against the face of the housing.
