In concrete construction the facing concrete spacer serves as support reinforcement. Two or more lengthways rods (2) are held together but at an i interval by connecting rods (3), and each bent over once. The assembly is tilted through 90 deg. so that the lengthways rods lie vertically one above the other. One or more reinforcing rods (1) are laid on the top one and welded in position, pref. in the lateral area. If two such reinforcing rods are used, they too can be held together at an interval by connecting rods, which may be of different dia. Steel mesh material can be saved.
